SHILLONG: Meghalaya recorded 60 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. With these new cases, the total active ones in the State has gone up to 1,284. Meanwhile, the State also recorded 14 new recoveries taking the total recovered cases to 1,049.
Of the new cases, East Khasi Hills recorded the most with 31 (armed or paramilitary forces: four; civilians: 27); East Garo Hills: nine (civilians); West Garo Hills: nine (armed or paramilitary forces); Ri-Bhoi: six (five civilians; armed or paramilitary forces: one); East Jaintia Hills: four (two civilians and two returnees); and South Garo Hills: one civilian.
The district-wise break up of the active cases are as follows: East Khasi Hills: 920 (armed/paramilitary forces: 272, and others: 648); West Garo Hills: 137 (armed/paramilitary forces: 79, and others: 58); East Garo Hills: 80; Ri-Bhoi: 56 (armed/paramilitary forces: six, and others: 50) West Khasi Hills: 44; East Jaintia Hills: 17; South Garo Hills: 14; armed/paramilitary forces: 11, and others: three); North Garo Hills: 12; West Jaintia Hills: two; and South West Khasi Hills: two.
On the other hand, the district-wise break up of the new recovered cases are as follows: West Garo Hills: eight (all from the armed/paramilitary forces); two each from Ri-Bhoi and East Jaintia Hills district (all civilians); and one each from South West Garo Hills and East Khasi Hills (all civilians).
