SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Sunday registered another 24 Covid deaths, 803 new infections and 553 new recoveries.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr. Aman War informed that East Khasi Hills district registered 19 fatalities while West Jaintia Hills recorded five.
The State now has a total of 459 deaths, 7682 active cases and 21542 have so far recovered from the virus.
Dr. War informed that of the 803 new cases, East Khasi Hills recorded 484, West Jaintia Hills 55, South West Khasi Hills and West Garo Hills
52 each, South West Garo Hills 45, East Jaintia Hills 34, Ri Bhoi 27, South Garo Hills 19, West Khasi Hills 16, North Garo Hills 10 and East Garo Hills nine.
East Khasi Hills has the most number of active cases with 4175, Ri-Bhoi 1182, West Garo Hills 540, West Jaintia Hills 537, South West Garo Hills 315, East Jaintia Hills 265, West Khasi Hills 185, North Garo Hills 141, South Garo Hills 135, South West Khasi Hills 117 and East Garo Hills 90.
East Khasi Hills district also recorded the most number of Covid deaths with 377, West Jaintia Hills 28, West Garo Hills 23, Ri-Bhoi nine, East Jaintia Hills and North Garo Hills five each, South Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills three each, East Garo Hills two and South West Khasi Hills one.
