Guwahati: Meghalaya on Sunday (July 19) reported two more COVID-19 deaths, taking the overall toll in the state to 4.
Confirming this to The Sentinel Digital, Al Hek, the Meghalaya Health Minister, said, "Two casualties have been reported today, taking the total to 4. While one is a returnee from Kolkata who had returned on the 5th of this month to Shillong, the other is a BSF jawan. The former's body is being transported to his hometown in the Ri-Bhoi district for the last rites."
In Meghalaya, 15 more COVID-19 cases were detected on Saturday, taking the total number of active COVID-19 positive cases to 367.
Director of Health Services Dr Aman War said that out of the new cases, seven are from East Khasi Hill district, three from West Garo Hills district, four from Ri- Bhoi and one from South West Garo Hills district.
Meanwhile, India on Saturday recorded its highest spike with 38,902 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. The number of deaths went up to 543, according to health ministry data.
