SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Monday recorded 22 new COVID-19 cases while 18 infected persons recovered from the virus. As on date, the State's has 139 active cases and a total of 13,204 persons have so far recovered. The fatality rate due is 1.03 per cent, informed Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War.
Of the 22 new cases, 18 were reported from East Khasi Hills besides two each from West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills. All the 18 recovered cases were from East Khasi Hills (Armed & paramilitary forces: one). Of the 2, 98, 554 persons tested for infection till date, as many as 2, 85, 072 samples yielded negative results.
Of the 13,482 confirmed cases, altogether 13,204 patients have recovered, 139 are active cases and 139 succumbed to the virus. While 50 persons are under institutional quarantine, 68 are under home quarantine/isolation. The State has 17 containment zones. Altogether 79, 273 persons have entered the State till date.
