Meghalaya: RT-PCR Tests Not Required For Double Vaccinated Individuals Before Entering State

The cabinet has further announced that all schools will fully function from February 14 except those in Shillong which will reopen only for Classes 1 to 5.

SHILLONG: In the Covid review meeting, the Meghalaya Cabinet has decided to lift a few restrictions effective from February 11.

Further, as per the revised guidelines, double vaccinated individuals will not require RT-PCR tests before entering the State. Moreover, all schools will fully function from February 14 except those in Shillong which will reopen only for Classes 1 to 5.

The cabinet has also made a few other announcements in the meeting, which are as follows.

• Night Curfew will be lifted

• Double vaccinated people will only be permitted in bars, restaurants, movie theatres

• Odd-even rule for private vehicles will continue

• No prior permissions will be required for funerals

On the other hand in the neighbouring state of Assam, the Covid-19 case load in the State decreased on Tuesday as 413 positive cases were detected. The number of deaths registered was 8.

The overall positivity rate was 1.28 per cent. In Kamrup (M) district, 106 positive cases were detected today.
