SHILLONG: In view of the COVID-19 situation in East Khasi Hills district the administration will promulgate night curfew. The curfew will be in force from 10 pm to 5 am from July 6 upto July 13.

The district administration has also prohibited inter-State movement. The order also prohibits operation of unregulated major markets and unregulated shopping complexes, border haats and markets located the inter-state borders.

Persons above 65 years of age, person with co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years are advised to stay at home except for meeting essential requirements and for health purposes.

Meanwhile, shops in Ïewduh market from 8 am to 6 pm will open strictly on rotation basis and alphabetical pattern as per notifications issued by the Acting Syiem, Hima Mylliem.

The order states that the Syiem of Hima Mylliem must ensure strict compliance by the shopkeepers to the Health protocols for market issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department.

A total of 413 shops from fixed stalls in the market will open strictly on rotation basis and alphabetical pattern.

Meanwhile, shops in will open from 8 am to 8 pm in Shillong Urban Agglomeration on rotational basis. Also shops located in shopping malls will open on odd-even basis.

Moreover, border trade with Bangladesh through Land Customs Stations is permitted subject to strict compliance of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) being issued by the State government in the Commerce and Industry Department. However, trade through border haat is not permitted.
