SHILLONG: The Congress is trying to oppose the ruling MDA (Meghalaya Democratic Alliance) government in the State with concocted stories, stated Nicky Nongkhlaw — the president of NPYF (National People's Youth Front).

The NPYF leader, in a statement, said that this is nothing new and that the Congress instead of supporting them and working together towards the fight against COVID-19 in Meghalaya is instead busy opposing the MDA government led by the NPP (National People's Party).

The NPYF is the youth wing of NPP.

During this pandemic, while other social and political parties have come together against the fight against pandemic, the Congress party could have been more graceful and taken a lead towards humanity, he said. It's also unfortunate that the Congress party is trying to bring down the MDA government at a time when the COVID cases are on a rise. The Congress is trying to oppose the MDA government with concocted facts and figures, he added.

Castigating Zenith Sangma for flaying the MDA government over the recent appointment of a new junior bureaucrat as the CMD (Chairman-cum-Managing Director) of MeECL (Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited), the NPYF leader said the appoinement has been made to support new people, talent and innovation.
