SHILLONG: A day after the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA), a conglomerate of the National People’s Party (NPP), the United Democratic Party (UDP) and the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) elected Teinwell Dkhar of the UDP for the post of Chief Executive Member (CEM), sources informed that the post of Deputy CEM and Chairman will go to the NPP.
According to sources, Pyniaid Sing Syiem will be the Deputy CEM and the post of chairman of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) will go to PN Syiem, MDC Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah.
It may be mentioned that on Sunday it was decided that Teinwell Dkhar, four-time MDC from Shella, will be the CEM for a year.
The other contenders to the post of CEM, Paul Lyngdoh from Jaiaw constituency and Titosstarwell Chyne from Sohra will share the next four years.
The NPP will get four posts of Executive Member (EM) while the UDP and the HSPDP, which had a pre-poll alliance, will get five seats. The UDP will get four posts and the HSPDP with two seats will get one post of EM.
On Monday evening, the PDA coalition partners met at the official residence of UDP chief Dr Donkupar Roy.
