SHILLONG: A girl from Shillong was found dead in Jaipur under unexplained circumstances on Thursday. An investigation has been started to find the causes of this incident.
According to the reports, the father of the deceased, Rubi Binong got a call from the administration of the Mody University in Jaipur where she was enrolled for studies. The caller urged him to go to reach the location as soon as possible as the health of his daughter has worsened and she was admitted to the Laxmangarh community health centre.
When he reached the institute by the evening of Friday, the authorities informed him that his daughter had passed away and that the body was kept in the morgue of the community health centre. He was also informed that the necessary post-mortem will be carried out on Saturday. However, no explanation was given regarding the reason for her sudden death.
The family meanwhile got in contact with Meghalaya Police and reported the incident. A case was also registered regarding the development at the Nongpoh Police Station under Section 174 of CrPc and an investigation has been initiated.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, an accident that took place on National Highway 37, led to the death of two people and injury to one more person. The accident reportedly took place at Kaziranga of Assam, near the Haldhibari locality on the morning of Saturday.
According to reports, the incident took place when a commercial pickup vehicle collided with a truck that was parked on the shoulder of the National Highway. The vehicle reportedly hit the parked truck from behind. While two of the passengers in the commercial vehicle died on the spot because of the incident, the driver of the vehicle had to be admitted to a nearby medical facility in critical condition.
