SHILLONG: Shillong and its agglomeration will come under two days of lockdown from Monday to Tuesday. This was decided by the government on Saturday evening. Informing about the decision, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that the lockdown has been given to bring about behavioural change among the public.
The two-day lockdown will also allow the COVID management committees to reach out to the various neighborhoods for sensitizing the people on the high transmilibility and the invisible nature of the virus.
However, the Chief Minister allayed all fears that there is a surge in COVID cases across the State. The Chief Minister also exhorted the public to be a part of the war against deadly disease.
