SHILLONG: Campaigning with Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday to seek mandate for NPP (National People's Party) in the GHADC (Garo Hills Autonomous District Council) election, Siju Rongara MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) Rakkam A Sangma praised Chief Minister for initiating development in the South Garo Hills region.

Pointing out that this region remained neglected for over two decades, he added that the region is now on a "development track" as the ruling State government has initiated major projects, including construction of roads and bridges.

Informing the masses in election rallies that development works have already started in the most neglected routes, viz., Tura to Baghmara, Panda to Kanai, Ranikor to Moheskola besides several other important roads, he stated that such work will turn around the development scenario of the Garo Hills.

He also informed the gathering about the major projects to upscale the sectors of Education and Health in the region. He also mentioned about the State government's move to promote tourism in the most sought-after destinations -- Balpakram and Siju in the Garo Hills.

The MLA appealed to the masses that by voting in favour of NPP candidates from Wagesik and Siju, Bartholomew D Shira and Albinush R Marak respectively, the electorates will be able to ensure continuity of the development proces across the Garo Hills. .
