Shillong, Aug 29: A former faculty of North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has written to the Vice-Chancellor of the university with regards to violation of recruitment norms.
According to the ex-faculty member, NEHU is recruiting staff in violation of the guidelines set for recruitment by the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT).
Last week, the former faculty member of the university, JP Jaiswal, raised the matter before the NEHU vice-chancellor in an email.
In the e-mailed letter to the Vice-Chancellor, Jaiswal informed him that the university administration is holding interviews for statutory officers despite the fact that the advertisements for these posts are more than eight months old.
According to Jaiswal the DOPT order no. Misc-14017/15/2015—Est (RR) dated Jan 11, 2016 stipulates that the entire recruitment process must be completed within six months.
“Since the university is doing this deliberately for vested interest I request you to direct the university authorities to stop interviews which is in violation of government order,” Jaiswal said in his email.
According to Jaiswal, NEHU had advertised for the said post in October 2017 while the last date of submitting application was on November 30, 2017.
Which means the advertisement is nine months old. Jaiswal said that NEHU should have re-advertised the same posts.
