Weekly markets to open in West Garo Hills

As the COVID-19 cases has gradually declining in the district, West Garo Hills District Magistrate passed an order on October 9, thereby allowing the opening of weekly markets subject to strict compliance to set guidelines and protocols.

TURA: As the COVID-19 cases has gradually declining in the district, West Garo Hills District Magistrate passed an order on October 9, thereby allowing the opening of weekly markets subject to strict compliance to set guidelines and protocols.

According to the order, all the traders and vendors are required to display their vaccination status and wear face masks without fail, temporary sheds and shops to maintain a distance of 2 metres from one another, traders and buyers from outside the State to adhere to entry protocols. The order bans the sale of electronic goods, plastics, clothing and textiles, including second-hand clothes, and the presidents and secretaries of the market committees had been given directive to oversee the compliance to COVID protocol, stated a press release.
