TURA: The West Garo Hills District administration has issued SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for archery sports activities in the district. The authority concerned also directed that the COVID-19 protocols will have to be strictly adhered to, the playing surfaces disinfected, equipments and operational area within the premises with clinically approved disinfectants.

The 'teer' counters must adhere to the shop timings, have adequate facilities for hand washing and also regularly sanitize the door knobs and handles besides displaying the vaccination status of the staffers of respective 'teer' counters. All will have to maintain social distance. Moreover, the participants have been discouraged from sharing cigarettes, bidis, chewing tobacco or betel nuts and leaves.

The order also said that all participants are to be vaccinated, and only personal equipments like bows and arrows are to be used without sharing; a minimum of 30 players have been allowed, operation of any stall inside the venue is not allowed, all shooters are to be sanitized before entering the playground; and specific markings to be made and allotted to the shooters.

Besides banning the consumption of alcohol or intoxicants during the hours of the game, the order also said that only four to five bookies will be allowed as witnesses to the game. Further, it is mandatory that gloves are to be worn for counting of the arrows; and, all the activities will be closed by 1 pm.
