Workshop on MET held at NEIGRIHMS, Meghalaya

SHILLONG: The National Medical Council (NMC), Regional Center for Medical Education Technology (RC-MET), North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) successfully conducted the first Revised Basic Course Workshop on Medical Education Technology from 12-14 September 2022.

According to a press release, a total of 19 medical faculties from West Bengal, Sikkim, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and 11 in-house faculties were trained at the workshop. The programme will contribute to improvement in the quality of medical education in the eastern region, by training medical teachers in newer techniques in MET and orienting them to the newly introduced Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) which was recently introduced by the NMC.

It is noteworthy that NEIGRIHMS was recently awarded the status of RC-MET in March, 2022. The RC-MET, NEIGRIHMS will be conducting several such workshops annually and help train faculties of 17 medical colleges assigned to it by NMC.
