Aizawl Assam Rifles conducts COVID-19 awareness drive

AIZWAL: The Aizawl Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), organized a COVID-awareness drive in Mimbung, Ngopa, New Vaikhawtlang, Kawlbem and Hnahlan Village, of Mizoram on Friday.

The aim of the drive was to create awareness in the local population about the prevailing COVID-19 situation and the vaccination drive which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. The awareness drive educated the villagers about the possibilities of vaccination drive in the near future and about COVID-19 protocols, such as maintaining social distancing, washing of hands, wearing mask properly and avoid social gatherings and a need to stay at home till this situation is not over was stressed upon.

The awareness drive was attended by the large number of villagers. An interactive session on COVID-19 was also held, wherein the villagers came up with their questions/ perceptions on the pandemic which in turn were adequately clarified by the Nursing Assistants. The efforts of Assam Rifles was well received and adequately appreciated by the VCP and local populace, stated a release.
