Assam Rifles conducts lecture on 'Ayushman Bharat' in Champhai district

VAPHAI: Serchhip Battalion of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted an awareness lecture on Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana under Ayushman Bharat scheme as well as health care schemes of the Mizoram Government at Vaphai of Champhai district on Saturday, stated a press release.

The aim of the lecture was to raise awareness on Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana under Ayushman Bharat Scheme, which was launched by the Government of India in September, 2018 along with various health schemes launched by the State Government from time to time. The villagers were informed in-depth about the Jan Arogya scheme which provides a cover of Rs 5 lakhs per family per year for medical treatment in empanelled hospitals, both public and private, offering cashless treatment. The offline and online procedures and required documents for applying to take the benefit of the scheme were also discussed.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks by the local authority who appreciated the kind gesture of the Assam Rifles in reaching out to them and hoped that this effort would go a long way in further cementing the bond between the people of Mizoram and Assam Rifles.
