AIZAWL: The Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles,
under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East),
distributed 10 sewing machines with stands) (Usha company), stated a release.
Along with the machines, the following items were also distributed: All-colour cotton threads and plastic buttons; lining; hook and eve; bukram, scissors (Iron best quality), cotton cloth, needles, velcro etc., at the three villages of Lungpuk, Parva, and Chapi in Mizoram on December 23.
A training workshop for the recipients was also conducted from December 24 to 30. They were trained on sewing techniques and were counselled to further enhance their skills and use their expertise as a career option. Appreciating the efforts of Assam Rifles, the public requested that such skill-based training be imparted more frequently.
