Assam Rifles holds painting competition at Lungpuk, clears road at Zochachua in Mizoram

AIZAWL: The Lunglei Battalion of Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) — organized a painting competition among children at Lungpuk Village of Mizoram on August 26.

The objective was to engage the children in a creative exercise to identify their hopes and dreams of the future. The children used vibrant colours and imagination in their paintings to spread the awareness about the importance of cleanliness in the day-to-day life and also dwelt on the adverse effects of the unhygienic conditions on health and the diseases related to it. A total of 27 students took part in the competition, stated a press release.

ROAD CLEARANCE EXERCISE IN ZOCHACHUA VILLAGE: The Lunglei Battalion of the Assam Rifles used JCB in Zochachua Village for road clearance and clearance of sliding area of Zochachua village on August 25.

The road to the main gate of Zochachua Village was badly affected due to heavy rains. As a result, the villagers were having trouble moving in and out of the village. They could not go to their fields. The locals have expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the assistance of Assam Rifles in their day-to-day life amidst the COVID 19 lockdown, stated a press release.
