Assam Rifles organized COVID drives in 2 Mizoram villages

In view of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Assam Rifles organized 'COVID-19 Awareness' meetings at two villages — Kawlbem and Sangau — in Mizoram.

AIZAWL: In view of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Assam Rifles organized 'COVID-19 Awareness' meetings at two villages — Kawlbem and Sangau — in Mizoram. The aim of these drives was to generate awareness amongst villagers about COVID-19.

The Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of 23 Sector Assam Rifles/ Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) organized the awareness drive on COVID-19 pandemic at village Kawlbem on Monday. The aim of the campaign was to generate awareness amongst the locals about COVID-19 pandemic. The troops of Assam Rifles went to the churches, schools and other places to make the people aware of the pandemic.

The Sangau Company of the Assam Rifles recently carried out such a drive in Sangau village. The village is located in South western part of Lawngtlai district.

The personnel pasted COVID-19 safety posters in the village to educate the villagers about COVID-19 protocols such as maintaining social distance, washing of hands, wearing mask properly and avoiding social gatherings.

The authorities of both the villages appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles for conducting the awareness drive and assured their support in the fight against COVID-19, stated a release.
