Assam Rifles provides assistance to specially abled kids at Aizawl, Mizoram

 AIZAWL: Assam Rifles visited ‘His Little Feet Orphanage and ‘Eptha Society’ Special School at Aizawl, Mizoram, on Saturday. The children, including specially abled kids, were given a few day-to-day items for the smooth running of the orphanage or school. Brigadier Girish Upadhya, SM**, VSM, and DIG Mizoram Range also had an interactive session with the school teachers and workers and discussed ways and means of improving the habitat of the orphanage. A dental checkup and lecture on general health and hygiene were also done for all the kids. Sweets were distributed to the kids, and DIG promised them that AR would provide them with all possible assistance.

Such initiatives by the Assam Rifles bring a new dawn to the local community. As part of recognising the sports talents in the orphanage, the support and possibly the possibility of recruiting them to AR via the sports quota were also discussed. Teachers and other volunteers expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their assistance and relentless efforts to bring smiles to the faces of the children.
