MIZORAM: The Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), recovered 44 cases of foreign origin cigarettes worth Rs 57.20 lakh in general area Chhungte, Champhai, on Thursday. The operation was carried out by a combined team of COB Champhai, 42 Assam Rifles, and Customs Department Champhai based on specific information. During the operation, 44 cases of foreign origin cigarettes were hidden off the track in general area Chhungte and handed over to Custom Preventive Force Champhai for further legal proceeding, stated a press release.
