BSF seized Heroin & Yaba tablets at the Indo-Bangladesh border

AIZAWL: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, the Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) and Customs Department, carried out an operation based on specific information and recovered 97 grams heroin (No-4), from a person on the Zokhawthar-Melbuk Road on February 12.

The approximate market value of the recovered narcotics is Rs 38,80,000. The Customs Department seized the contraband item, they also detained one individual, stated a release.

YABA TABLETS SEI-ZED: Foiling an attempt to smuggle narcotics, troops of the Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) seized 915 Yaba tablets at the Indo-Bangladesh border on February 11. The seizure was made from the bordering area of village of Sadartilla under Mankachar Police Station in South Salmara district.

Acting on a tipoff, BSF troopers of the Sadartila Border Out Post (BOP) of 6 Battalion carried out a special operation in village Sadartila, while the consignments were being "smuggled from India to Bangladesh".

The seized narcotic items have been deposited at Mankachar Police Station, stated a release.
