AIZAWL: Anil Shukla has been named the new Director General of Mizoram Police by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Shukla, a seasoned IPS officer, will follow Devesh Chandra Srivastava as Mizoram's top police official. The appointment is part of a bigger reorganisation of officials in the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre.

Furthermore, Anil Shukla holds a Master of Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School as per report. He was in charge of important investigations into many terror-related cases in Jammu and Kashmir, including the Pulwama incident and the Sachin Waze case.

Moreover, Shukla was also looking into the Antilla bomb threat, the murder of Mansukh Hiren, and Anil Deshmukh's corruption charges.

Following the notification of the Centre's ordinance on Delhi administrative services, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) transferred 59 Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territory (AGMUT) or Central cadre officers, including 32 IAS and 27 IPS officials, on Thursday.

Six IAS and seven IPS officers have been transferred, while 11 IAS and 16 IPS officers have been assigned new assignments in Delhi. This reallocation has an impact on the cadre, which spans five states and four union territories.

Meanwhile, Anil Shukla comes to his new position with a plethora of expertise, having previously served in the National Investigation Agency wing in Jammu & Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the outgoing DGP of Mizoram, Devesh Chandra Srivastava, has been posted as the DGP of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This transfer is part of a larger reassignment of officers in the AGMUT cadre. Neeraj Thakur (IPS:1994 AGMUT), the former DGP of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has been shifted to Delhi for a new assignment.

R. Lalramnghaka (IAS: 2009 AGMUT), who is now serving in the Department of Commerce & Industries and as Secretary to the Government of Mizoram, has been transferred to Delhi for further assignment.

Garima Gupta (IAS:2004: AGMUT), who is now Secretary of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, and Managing Director of Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation (SRDC), will also be transferred immediately.

Parwaiz Ahmed (IPS:2004: AGMUT), who formerly served as the Mizoram Police IGP Training, has been transferred to Delhi for a new assignment.

Furthermore, B Srinivasan, a senior IPS officer noted for his work in improving the intelligence wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, has been appointed Director General of Puducherry Police.

Srinivasan, a 1990 batch IPS officer who earlier served as the intelligence chief after the abolition of Jammu and Kashmir's special status, is the second official to be transferred out of the Union Territory as a result of the merging of the Jammu and Kashmir cadre with the AGMUT cadre.
