Guwahati: Setting an example for posterity, Mizoram Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai has written at least 13 books during the coronavirus-induced lockdown which began on March 25 late.
Not letting the coronavirus induced lockdown to go in vain, Pillai made use of his free time at the Raj Bhavan by writing books and poems. He has written at least 13 books, which include collections of poems in English and Malayalam. At least 10 of the poems that he has written are about the coronavirus and the subsequent lockdowns.
According to reports, Pillai would wake up at 4 am and then would do his reading and writing. After completing his official work, Pillai would once again return to reading.
One of Pillai's poems written in Malayalam, titled 'Corona Kavithakal', deals with philosophical quandaries during the pandemic era.
Another poem, titled 'Mahamari' (or pandemic), explores the power of the human will to tackle threats such as the coronavirus.
In another collection of poems, entitled 'Oh, Mizoram', Pillar describes the scenic beauty of the Northeast Indian state in great detail.
This is hardly the first time that Pillai has written literature. So far, the Governor has at least 121 books of different categories, including poetry. He is currently said to be working of 4 book, and 90% of the work has been completed.
Today, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga participated in a book launch program where several other figures of note were also present.
The former Kerala state BJP president Pillai was sworn in as the 21st governor of Mizoram on November 5 last year.
