AIZAWL : Dr. R. Lalthangliana, health and family welfare minister, participated in a mass cleanliness event organized by the Public Health Engineering department and Central Young Mizo Association. The minister holds the belief that, the prosperity of a state or a country depends thoroughly on the activities of the people. The cleanliness program was organized at six different location in Aizawl. 650 volunteers actively participated in the event.
''the youngsters in the developed countries are very fond of and responsible towards their native. We all should take in-charge the good and bad of our own motherland'' says the minister. He further said that one must take care of his or her hygiene, as hygienic people are always healthier. He states that two of the most important part of nationalism are health and hygiene.
CYMA president was also present in the ceremony and he requested all the people, to ensure proper disposal of waste materials in the state. They advised for benefiting ways to keep the country clean. Both of the leaders urged to maintain and make cleanliness a priority.
The combined initiative by the CYMA and PHE department contributed in making Mizoram win the title of 'Swach Survekshan Grameen' among all the northeast states in the year 2019.
The bond was signed back in 2012 between Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) and CYMA in order to start up a cleanliness program, and also to preserve and protect the water sources of the state - rivers, streams, lakes, reservoirs etc.
This year too, Mizoram stood in the second position in Swach Survekshan Grameen.
The whole motive of this event was to spread awareness among masses, regarding and health and hygiene and its contribution towards the development of the entire state. The intention was also to fuel the minds of the youth with enough patriotism for a better future. Lalthangliana, also discussed about the hazardous consequences of consumption of illegal items.
