With 852 New Cases, Mizoram Reports Highest Single-Day Spike In COVID Cases In 2 months

However, in the last 24 hours, the state hasn't reported any deaths due to COVID-19. The current death toll of the state stands at 558.

Aizawl: Mizoram, on Saturday, reported a total of 852 new COVID-19 cases which is the highest single-day spike in the last two months.

Of 852, Aizawl reported the highest number of cases (261) followed by Serchip (255) and Lawngtlai (69).

The single-day cases have increased by around 32 per cent as compared to the previous day where 579 cases were reported.

However, in the last 24 hours, the state hasn't reported any deaths due to COVID-19. The current death toll of the state stands at 558.

According to a health official, the number of active cases now stands at 3,464, while 152 people have recovered from the infection on Saturday and with this the total recoveries reached to 1,40,602.

Recently, in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19, Mizoram had announced new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for entry-point screening in an effort to avert its devastating results and curb the spread of COVID-19 infections and new variant Omicron.
