Woman Apprehended With Rs 11,35,600 Fake Currency In Mizoram's Aizawl

The woman was arrested on Saturday and as per the Special Narcotics Police the woman had Rs 11,35,600 FICN in the denomination of Rs 500, 200 and 100.

Aizawl: Border Security Force (BSF) along with Special Narcotics Police has arrested a woman with Rs 11,35,600 fake Indian currency notes (FICN).

According to a report by ANI, the woman was arrested on Saturday and as per the Special Narcotics Police the woman had Rs 11,35,600 FICN in the denomination of Rs 500, 200 and 100.

The police are now investigating the matter.

Notably, in February this year, a special squad and East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Basistha PS, with the help of Crime Branch, Guwahati, recovered fake Indian currency notes from a vehicle and arrested three persons in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off, a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number ML O7 B 7998 was intercepted at the Sonapur toll gate and was brought to the Baisistha PS.

After a thorough search, a bundle of fake currency notes was recovered. In this bundle, notes amounting to Rs 10,000 were original while the rest of the notes were only white paper.
