KOHIMA: An ex-servicemen rally was organised by the troops of Assam Rifles for all ex-servicemen and Veer Naris of the Longding district and South Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. The primary aim of the rally was to provide a common platform to the ex-servicemen and Veer Naries to interact with Army and Civil officials and seek redressal to their grievances, stated a release.
The rally was held at Sports Stadium, Longding and was attended by 250 ex-servicemen and Veer Naries. Other than redressal of grievances, the rally also provided a single-window contact to resolve issues relating to ECHS and CSD Cards. A number of stalls were established to disseminate information and to resolve the grievances.
A medical camp was also organized along with the rally. Representatives from Sub Area, ECHS, Zila Sainik Board and Civil adm were in attendance to assist the Ex-Servicemen.
The rally provided the much-needed opportunity for redressal of grievances to the Veterans. The efforts of the local formation in getting the rally organised in an insurgency affected areas of South Arunachal Pradesh was widely appreciated.
