Central Ministers Campaign for BJP in Nagaland

Jagat Prakash Nadda had released the election manifesto for the state of Nagaland

KOHIMA: Multiple senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party have participated in election-related campaigning in different parts of the state of Nagaland on Friday ahead of the upcoming assembly polls in the state.

Union ministers Kiren Rijiju and Sarbananda Sonowal have stepped up the campaigning in different parts of the poll-bound state. The National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, BL Santosh is also taking part in election campaigns in the state.

Union Minister of Law and Justice, Kiren Rijiju took part in a political rally hosted in the Longwa Public Ground to campaign for the candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the elections. He is also scheduled to attend meetings in Phomching and Tizit constituencies located in the Mon district of Eastern Nagaland.

Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways as well AYUSH, Sarbanada Sonowal is also participating in multiple campaigns in the state. He is being accompanied by the deputy chief minister of the previous government in Nagaland, Yanthungo Patton, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs John Barla and Rajya Sabha Member S Phangnon Konyak as he campaigned in Mon and Wokha districts of the state.

National Secretary BL Santosh was scheduled to take part in the campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party candidates in the Tuensang, Mokokchung and Zunheboto constituencies of Nagaland.

While the National President of the party, Jagat Prakash Nadda had released the election manifesto for the state, the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah had taken part in a campaign earlier.

Bharatiya Janata Party entered into a pre-poll alliance in the state of Nagaland with the previous coalition partner Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party. BJP had fielded for 20 candidates while NDPP for 40 candidates in the 60-seat Nagaland Assembly. One of the candidates of BJP has already been named winner because of the lack of any other candidates.
