Dimapur Police extends Odd-even traffic rule till August 31 in view of Covid-19

Heavy vehicles are restricted within the town & highway area except those with permission in the four lane construction

In view of rising cases across Nagaland, Dimapur police has extended odd-even traffic rule till August 31

In interest of public health and safety of citizens during the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, traffic regulations for non-essential vehicular movement within Dimapur town and NH-29 till Chümoukedima town has been issued to be implemented with effect from August 17 till 31.

Odd number Day: On every Monday, Wednesday and Friday only vehicle with registration number ending with odd numbers (eg, 1, 3, 5, 7 & 9) will be allowed to ply.

Even Number Day: On every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (eg, 2, 4, 6, 8 & 0) will be allowed to ply. This restriction will not be enforced on Sundays.

The services listed under the essential category as declared prior will be exempted. Further, this is also applicable to officials on bonafide government duties and servant vehicles providing essential services/involved in COVID -19 related duties. As per the concerns of this restriction they can provide relevant documents and valid ID proof. Two wheelers will also considered in this aspect.

Heavy vehicles are restricted within the town and highway area except those with permission in the four lane construction work from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

In the interest of public safety, violation of the order issued by Dimapur Commissioner of Police, Rothihu Tetseo stated to be penalized and hereby urged the netizens to abide with full cooperation.
