MON: The Assam Rifles on Friday gave a organised an event for the students at Saint Mary's High School Mon in an effort to increase awareness of the opportunities provided at Sainik School, fostering a spirit of discipline and excellence.
According to a office at the HQ IGAR (North), the initiative highlighted the free coaching classes that are available in Mon to assist prospective students in getting ready to enroll in Sainik School.
It was added that 120 students in total attended the lecture. The Assam Rifles reported, that on November 15, in the presence of the village chairman of New Rala, Wokha, they had given sports equipment—such as footballs, volleyballs, table tennis boards, carrom boards, javelins, skipping ropes, and other items—to the pupils of the government school located in New Ralan, Wokha.
In addition to fostering closer friendships, these amenities were intended to inspire children living in rural areas to attend school on a regular basis with enthusiasm and to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle while maintaining discipline in their pursuit of a bright future.
Following the event, the students, teachers, and village leaders participated in an exhibition football match. Another update from the AR stated that on Friday, Assam Rifles High School in Tuensang hosted its annual sports day. Including the march past, sporting events, and other activities, 72 students and 16 teachers took part in the event.
Previously, the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio inaugurated five state-of-the-art indoor stadiums across the state on Monday in a bid to promote games and sports in the state. These five new indoor stadiums are located in five districts of the state. Speaking from the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence in Sovima, the chief minister mentioned that this step will promote the youth of the state to be more inclined towards sports as better facilities will now be available for them.
