KOHIMA: A Nagaland native who is a student at Mumbai University released videos of some miscreants abusing him racially on Monday outside the university campus.

Tiapong Tzudir, commonly known as the "Yatra Child" on YouTube, can be seen berating bystanders who were insulting him outside the MU campus. He is currently 24 years old and pursuing is degree in the Sociology department.

Tiapong alleged that the people who harassed him called him names like "chinki" and "Chinese" while hiding their faces in the video.

Tiapong shared a video of the entire incident to Instagram, where it has received over 28,000 likes and 600 comments.

As per sources, after he left the campus to grab dinner, a group of five to seven individuals screamed racist epithets and tossed water balloons at him.

According to police sources, complaints under IPC sections 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) have been filed against unidentified individuals.

After calling for a meeting with their parents, Tiapong and his buddies were able to identify the assailants, but no one showed up.

Although he has experienced racial discrimination before, he called this encounter one of the "tough ones," despite the fact that it is not the first. Considering that to be "normal," he simply walked away.

On the way back, he became a little anxious, so instinctively, he activated the camera on his phone. As soon as they saw him, however, "they started calling names and throwing water balloons."

Tzudir continued, "Even if I wanted to do something, I know I would be overpowered and get bashed."

He returned to the hostel with several friends, but when they arrived, the miscreants had already left.

Tzudir claimed that community leaders helped him identify the perpetrators from the video he had recorded. He then called for a meeting with the perpetrators' parents later that night, but the perpetrators didn't show up.
