Kohima: The Nagaland Congress has sought President Ram Nath Kovind to stop the BJP-led central government to stop from indulging in ''political vendetta'' against its leaders.

In this regard, a memorandum was submitted to Governor Jagdish Mukhi at the Raj Bhavan by state Congress leaders led by the party's working president Khriedi Theunuo.

"Political vendetta has been unleashed by the NDA government against political opponents in the country, utilizing the services of Central government agencies like Enforcement Directorate (ED), CBI, NIA, etc," the memorandum said.

In the memorandum, it was alleged that the case filed against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi is an attempt to harass and silence the leaders of the opposition so that the failure of the government cannot be seen.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summon to Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, some leaders of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), including Debabrata Saikia, staged a protest in front of the later office in Guwahati.

Not only in Guwahati, but the Congress party also protested in Delhi against summoned issued to Rahul Gandhi to appear before them in connection with the National Herald case.
