Nagaland registers 11 fresh Covid-19 cases; tally reaches 636

The number of COVID-19 cases in Nagaland has been spiking upwards after the return of stranded citizens who have started trickling in post-lockdown

Guwahati: Nagaland has confirmed 11 more Covid 19 fresh cases on Tuesday, July 7. With this fresh batch of cases, the number of cured patients stands at 243, while the number of active cases now numbers 393.

Out of 313 samples examined yesterday, 11 fresh cases have been detected in the state. Out of the 11 infected patients, 10 cases are from Mon district, and the one is from Kohima, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom wrote in a tweet.

Meanwhile, India's coronavirus tally crossed the seven lakh-mark on Monday, just four days after the number of infections in the country reached six lakh. 22,252 fresh cases and 467 deaths in the last 24 have pushed the total cases in the country to 7,19,665 and the death count to 20,160, the Union Health Ministry showed. 4,39,948 patients across the country have recovered so far, taking the recovery rate to 61.13 percent.
