NSCN (IM) extortion racket busted by security forces, 2 cadres arrested

Kohima: Assam Rifles (AR) and Nagaland Police have busted an extortion racket that is run by the Isaak Muivah faction of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim, in Dimapur. The security forces nabbed two active cadres of the NSCN-IM and four accomplices.

PRO Defence, issuing an update said that on July 4, the two active NSCN (IM) cadres along with the accomplices were apprehended near Green Park in Dimapur district

The incriminating materials which were recovered from their possession include but is not limited to one point 22 pistol (made in the USA), one AK 56 rifle with a magazine, one point 22 rifle Zerujorka with a magazine, a model CZ 99 precision calibre 22 long rifle with magazine, two packets of RDX explosive, and a huge amount of cash. Along with the recovered items, the apprehended persons were handed over to Diphupar Police Station for further investigations.

In the meantime, a source disclosed that the arrested NSCN-IM cadres were identified as self-styled colonel Rayilung Nsarangbe, a resident of Toulazouma village in Dimapur and self-styled private Lamci Iralu, a resident of Benreu village under Peren district.

The accomplices were recognized as Zingring Mung from Toulvi village under Ukhrul district of Manipur, Zingshonggam Muinao from Sondal village in Ukhrul, Rabi Pame from 5th Mile Model village in Dimapur, and Vimal Kumar Jain from Jain Temple Road in Dimapur.
