Kohima: The
Nagaland University (NU) on Friday issued a notice announcing a new examination
routine for the under-graduate (Arts, Science, and commerce) odd semester
examination which was postponed earlier will be held from January 18, 2021.
According to a notification issued by the Controller of Examinations, NU the mode of the exams is not decided yet it could be held in either offline or online mode. In this regard, all the affiliated colleges have been informed to be prepared accordingly as the mode of examination will be decided depending on the unfolding situation.

In an earlier notice, the University has also informed that all practical examinations should be carried out before or after theory exams and that the marks of both practical and theory papers should be submitted to the University at the earliest.
Holiday(s) declared after the publication of the examinations program shall not affect the exams routine, stated in the notification.
Earlier on November 13, NU has post ponded the under-graduate Odd Semester examinations for 1st, 3rd, and 5th semester in view of the prevailing situation due to the spread of the novel coronavirus in the state after the
Deputy Secretary to the Govt. of Nagaland Animi Lotha on November 13 requested the Vice-Chancellor of NU to postpone and hold the examination of undergraduate students by January/February 2021, citing the prevailing epidemic (COVID-19) stating that UGC has changed its academic calendar from November 2020-May 2021.
Meanwhile, in a separate release, the All Nagaland College Students' Union (ANCSU) acknowledged the state government and the NU for "understanding the threat of the ongoing pandemic and postponing the scheduled NU exams."
Earlier the exams were scheduled to be held on December
7, 2020.
