Sikkim: Bihar Tourist Swept Away By River While Taking Selfie

The 21-year-old Kumar was from the Bhagalpur district in Bihar. According to reports, Kumar was seen taking selfies by the riverside when the incident occurred.

Gangtok: A tourist from Bihar was swept away by a river when he was trying to click a selfie on Monday.

Reportedly, the tourist named Abhishek Kumar had come to Lalchung in Sikkim with his family on January 1.

The 21-year-old Kumar was from the Bhagalpur district in Bihar.

According to reports, Kumar was seen taking selfies by the riverside when the incident occurred.

After the incident, Sikkim police and other concerned authorities have launched an operation to trace him.

Notably, on December 31st, a young woman from Bihar was found dead at a hotel in Sikkim's Gangtok.

Reportedly, the woman along with her husband Kumar Gyaneshwar checked into the hotel on 27 December and had booked a room till 30 December.

As per the Gangtok Sadar Police, the couple had come from Bihar as a tourist, and her husband was found missing after the hotel staff checked there.

The woman identified as Rekha Singh 27-yar-old.
