Sikkim Governor announces Rs. 1 lakh ex-gratia for COVID warriors killed by the virus

Gangtok: Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh each to the next kin of Late Basanti Sundas, (ANS), STNM Hospital, and Late Dil Kumar Rai, IRBn Jawan who passed away recently due to coronavirus infections.

Meanwhile, the neighbouring Northeast Indian state has also announced a similar initiative for the 23 police personnel who passed after being infected with the COVID.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has announced an ex gratia of Rs. 50 lakh to the 23 police personnel in the state who have succumbed to the notorious COVID-19 disease, Additional Director General of Police Harmeet Singh informed via Twitter on Monday (October 5).

"We bow our heads in salutation to those brave Police/CAPF #CoronaWarriors who have made the Supreme Sacrifice in the fight against #COVID19. Hon' CM Assam, Sh. @sarbanandsonwal has kindly declared ex-gratia of Rs.50,00,000/- (each) for all @assampolice personnel who passed away," ADGP Harmeet Singh wrote in a tweet.
