State BJP president D.B. Chauhan, who was re-elected for the second consecutive term, was accorded a grand welcome and felicitation at the BJP office at Singtam on Wednesday.
The event was attended by BJP functionaries from the east district was also attended by party MLAs Y.T. Lepcha and S.T. Venchungpa. The event saw felicitation of D. B. Chauhan for having been elected as the State party chief, a State BJP release informs.
Addressing the gathering, Chauhan said the party would soon constitute its State executive committee and expedite its activities. He also reiterated the party’s ideology of nation first and equal treatment of all party workers.
D.B. Chauhan spoke on certain elements trying to use the party for their personal agenda and stressed the need to follow the party discipline. He said party workers would be given justice in due course of time. He further exhorted the social media team of the party to responsibly use the medium to place forth the party’s principles before the people.
State BJP east district president Bhanu Dahal welcomed the party’s decision on Chauhan’s re-election and said it is the duty of the workers to abide by the leadership’s decision. BJYM president Laten Sherpa also addressed the gathering, the release adds.
