22-year-old Tripura boy opens LED bulb manufacturing factory to dream "Aatmnirbhar Bharat"

With the opening up of Rohit Bhattacharjee's own LED bulb factory, named RB Illuminations, he has also opened up livelihood opportunities for people

Agartala: A 22-year-old boy from Tripura has started opening up livelihood opportunities for people. A Bachelors second-year student, Rohit Bhattacharjee has opened his own LED bulb manufacturing factory, which employs eight people. Bhattacharjee is pursuing honours in English.

When asked about what mad Bhattacharjee open a LED bulb factory, he said that the idea hit him up when he ran into a problem with a dysfunctional LED bulb at his home in March. Due to the nationwide lockdown, he struggled a lot to a replacement of the same. He, however, ended up watching YouTube on fixing LED bulbs.

This attracted him to making of the LED bulbs. A few weeks later, he took some money from his family to set up a small LED bulb manufacturing unit at Algapur. It is located in North Tripura, which is 150 KM from Agartala, the state capital.

Bhattacharjee wants to illuminate every household of Tripura, with pocket-friendly lighting solutions. His company is named as the RB Illuminations. He gained initial knowledge about making LED bulbs on YouTube. He invested an amount of Rs 5 lakh to purchase equipment and machines for the factory. He set up the at an ancestral plot of land in Algapur in Dharmanagar of North Tripura.

However, as the months passed, he picked up more knowledge about the manufacturing of LED lights on the internet. To know about the technology of making these bulbs, he also spoke with LED chip manufacturers in Delhi.

Bhattacharjee's manufacturing unit made around 50 bulbs a day initially, now it has increased to the manufacturing of 500 and 800 bulbs every day. For safety and regulations, the company also got a trade licence and other necessary clearances from the government.

Bhattacharjee also said that his company is doing well.
