AGARTALA: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is scheduled to address three mass meeting on 3rd February, Friday. The CM will be present in Tripura for the same.
The gathering will take place in Banamalipur Assembly Constituency located in Agartala, Krishnapur Assembly Constituency of Khowai district and Suryamaninagar in West district. According to sources, the Assam CM will discuss about the progress and development that has taken place in the state of Tripura ever since the current government came into force in 2018.
Recently, on the 30th of January, Himanta Biswa Sarma while conversating with the media, expressed full confidence in the BJP. He is of the view that, the BJP will continue to rule in the coming days as well and attain a larger number of seats, compared to the previous years.
The CM mentioned this during his Agartala visit on 30th January. ''We took a decision to fight elections alone in the state for the unity in Tripura. IPFT has been with us and this time also they are with us.
There is no doubt in saying that BJP will form the government in Tripura. I want to say that we win more seats than what we won in 2018,'' he said while speaking to reporters. When asked about the CPI(M) and Congress, the CM made a sarcastic remark terming their existence as zero.
Sarma views TIPRA Motha as a factor, however, he claims that the party won't shine in the election scenario. Apart from the Assam CM, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha was accompanied Manipur CM N Biren Singh, during filing the nomination papers through a rally.
BJP in Tripura has recently announced 48 candidates for the upcoming elections. According to the list, CM Manik Saha will contest from the Bordowali town.
