BJP Ready to Except All Demands of TIPRA Motha Except for Tipraland: Spokesperson

The Tipra Motha Party under Pradyot Manikya Deb Barman was the newest political party in the state as it participated in the state assembly polls for the first time.

AGARTALA: As the counting of votes is still underway across the state of Tripura, the Bharatiya Janata Party has announced that it is willing to accept all demands of the TIPRA Motha Party except for the demand for a separate Greater Tipraland state.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has already won the majority number of seats in the elections, while the TIPRA Motha Party is looking at grabbing the second-highest number of seats in the state assembly. And thus opening the avenue for the main opposition party in the state of Tripura with the support of a large section of the tribal population.

"We are forming the next government in the state as we have been saying since the beginning. Two central leaders -- Phanindranath Sarma and Sambit Patra -- are here to oversee the situation, and hopefully, more central leaders will be arriving today," mentioned the chief spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Subrata Chakraborty. "Except Greater Tipraland, the BJP is ready to accept all their demands," he added speaking about a possible coalition with the TIPRA Motha Party.

The Tipra Motha Party under Pradyot Manikya Deb Barman was the newest political party in the state as it participated in the state assembly polls for the first time. The development of all the tribal people in the state of Tripura is the main agenda for this new party in the state.

Pradyot Manikya Deb Barman, a member of the royal family of Tripura is at the helm of the TIPRA Motha Party. Although he had taken part in the political campaigning for the candidates, he kept to his promise of not participating in the elections himself. He had approached the Bharatiya Janata Party for the pre-poll coalition in the state, but the offers got rejected over the demands of a separate state for the indigenous people of the state.
