AGARTALA: Jagat Prakash Nadda, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party released the party's election manifesto ahead of the assembly polls in the northeastern state of Tripura.
Releasing the Sankalp Patra, the national president of the ruling party mentioned that this vision document is "not only a piece of paper but BJP's commitment towards the people." He also went on to add that "Tripura was once known for blockades and insurgency. The state is now known for peace, prosperity and development,".
JP Nadda also mentioned that more than 13 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health Cards were issued in the state of Tripura, with a settlement of more than Rs 107 Cr till date. He also mentioned that 3.5 lakh new homes have been constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna in the state during the tenure of the previous government. From 3% in 2018, more than 55% of households now receive safe drinking water under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Also, the per capita income of the state has increased from Rs 90000 to Rs 1.58 lakhs in the last five years according to JP Nadda.
The BJP president promised Rs 5 meals for everyone under the Anukul Chandra Scheme along with greater autonomy to the tribal areas of the state. This would be in terms of the legislative, executive as well as financial powers.
Jagat Prakash Nadda reached his poll-bound Tripura state in the morning of Thursday. He visited the famous Mata Tripura Sundari temple to seek the blessings of the Goddess ahead of the release of the Sankalp Patra for the upcoming elections. He proceeded to release the document from the capital city of Agartala. He is also scheduled to take part in an election rally on the afternoon of the day in the Khayerpur region of the state.
