AGARTALA: The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal, came down heavily on the opposition parties as he highlighted the decades of misrule by the Congress and Left parties. The senior BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leader championed the effort by the BJP led governments to transform Tripura economically, socially, and politically within India. The senior leader was addressing political rallies to show support for the BJP candidates in the Hejamara Bazaar and Barjala school grounds on Sunday. Addressing the huge gatherings, Sarbananda Sonowal said, "Tripura has been a witness to the dark days of misrule by the Congress and Left parties, which made our beautiful Northeast one of the least developed regions in India. To overcome the decades of economic depredation, social alienation, and political unimportance was a mammoth task. But, this was turned around as the BJP government, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took this challenge to transform the Northeast heads-on with nonstop development in the region. Today, we will witness the revolutionary transformation that the Northeast has experienced in this short period of time under Modi's leadership.

Tripura, like other states in the Northeast, emerged from the shadows of its dark past in record time to reclaim its lost glory. With the efficient HIRA model of transportation, Tripura has transformed itself to unlock its potential to become an important hub of progress and development. The effervescent people of the state are working with the BJP government to take their agricultural produce or their rich cane work to the world market. The "Tri Shakti Sankalp" has laid the foundation in the state for the next phase of development as it has allowed the citizens to lead a life of honour and respect while the quality of life continues to rise. The mood in the state is clear: to continue this historic journey of transformation for the betterment of the region and to build a new India—a vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "After the party registers an emphatic victory in the forthcoming assembly elections, the Congress and left parties will be wiped out of the political scene in Tripura." Sonowal also campaigned while addressing the Vijay Sankalp rally at Hejamara Bazaar for Binode Debbarma of the BJP in the Schedule Tribes (ST)-reserved Simna constituency. The senior BJP leader spoke at the Vijay Sankalp rally at Barjala school grounds while campaigning for the party's candidate, Dr Dilip Das, who is running in the SC (reserved) district."Barjala constituency. Addressing the concerns of marginalised communities, Sonowal said, "The BJP has always respected the views of the tribal communities as well as those of other marginalised communities." Our commitment to the welfare of tribal society can be gauged from the fact that the first ever ministry for the welfare of tribals was carved out by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. This belief is being ably carried forward under the Narendra Modi government, as the budget allocation to address the concerns of tribals in the country has been enhanced to a record five lakh crores in this year's budget. The double engine government has benefited the people at large, and this march of"Progress will continue unabated as you decide to repose your love, trust, and faith in the BJP once again," stated a press release.
