AGARTALA: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) supremo Mohan Bhagwat will visit Tripura for five days from May 23 and attend a series of events. Sources said on Tuesday that Bhagwat would stay at Khayerpur Seva Dham in west Tripura and would attend a series of events before departing from the state on May 28. Chief Minister Manik Saha, senior BJP leaders and ministers would meet the RSS Sarsanghchalak and discuss the prevailing political issues of Tripura.
He will meet with pracharaks of the northeastern region. Political observers felt that Bhagwat's visit to the northeastern state ahead of the counting of Lok Sabha votes on June 4 is significant as the RSS has been expanding its bases in the northeastern states. Security has been further tightened in the Khayerpur Seva Dham areas in west Tripura in view of the visit of RSS chief.
Last year Mohan Bhagwat, Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) came for three-day tour of the Northeast region. During his visit, he was anticipated to engage with Swayamsevaks and addressed participants of the Sangh Shiksha Varg (2nd year). This is a training camp currently underway in Hojai district Assam which commenced on July 12 and concluded on August 1.
Bhagwat's arrival in the region saw him touch down in Guwahati on July 28 before proceeding to Aizawl. There, he participated in a scheduled event.
A training camp has been organized from July 12 until August 12 at Geeta Ashram in Hojai, where Mohan Bhagwat addressed the camp and have an exchange of views with the trainees. At least 161 RSS members are taking part in the training camp. A total of 151 Swayamsevaks from Asom Kshetra, 95 from Uttar Asom Pranta 12 from Dakshin Asom Pranta, 4 from Arunachal Pranta 44 from Tripura Pranta and 6 from Manipur Pranta actively participated in the ongoing training camp.
