AGARTALA: Tripura has once again experienced political unrest ahead of the visit of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, after BJP Campaigners allegedly attacked a Congress door-to-door campaign in Bagma, in the Sepahijala district.

According to reports, BJP-backed miscreants allegedly launched an unjustified attack at the Bagma area this evening, injuring up to five Pradesh Congress activists, including Titan Paul, president of the Gomati District Congress. Police arrived on the scene quickly after the tragedy, freed the victims, and took them to the Gomati district hospital.

A congressman commented on the matter, saying, "When we were conducting a door-to-door campaign, BJP-backed goons appeared out of nowhere, destroyed our vehicles, and attacked some of our staffers. More than 20 individuals arrived and started the assault. Titan Paul, the district president of our Congress, and four others were hurt during the attack.

Titan Paul, a district president for the Congress, commented on the matter, saying, "The BJP workers have crossed the lines, and I want to warn them that if they don't care about the law and order situation, we would treat them and fight them in the same way." Four automobiles and one bike were reportedly also vandalised during the attack, according to sources.

Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma said on Tuesday that it's a blatant sign of weakness and that as the election gets closer, their political understanding will grow. This statement came hours after Left Front and Congress jointly urged people to stand together against the BJP's misrule by ousting them in the 2023 election.

The Left Front and Congress, not democracy, are now in danger in Tripura, according to DyCM Dev Varma, who spoke to the media. That Congress will collaborate with the Left in Tripura, he claimed, is not surprising.

According to the deputy chief minister, thousands of Congress employees suffered torture under the Left's rule. That past is still fresh in people's minds. The Left Front and Congress have also reached an election agreement in West Bengal. People disapproved of them. Because they believe they cannot compete against the BJP alone, they are unified.
