AGARTALA: In a remarkable tale of love that transcended borders, a Bangladeshi woman's fervent desire to marry her paramour led her to undertake an extraordinary journey across the international boundary. However, her amorous odyssey took an unexpected turn when she was apprehended by authorities in Dharmanagar, North Tripura district, for entering India illegally.

Nur Jalal, a 34-year-old resident of Phulbari in Dharmanagar subdivision, was not only a practitioner of Ayurveda but also a man deeply entwined in a complex love story. His frequent visits to Maulvi Bazar in Bangladesh became the backdrop for a serendipitous meeting with the 24-year-old married woman from her native village.

As fate would have it, over time, Nur and the married woman, identified as Fatema Nusrat, found themselves falling deeply in love. Approximately 15 days ago, defying geographical boundaries and legal constraints, Fatema clandestinely ventured into Dharmanagar with a single purpose in mind - to unite her destiny with Nur.

Unfortunately for the star-crossed lovers, their journey took an abrupt turn when authorities received a tip about the presence of a Bangladeshi woman in the region. Consequently, on Thursday, Fatema Nusrat found herself in custody, facing charges related to illegal entry into India. She has since been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.

However, Nur Jalal's fate took a different twist, as he managed to evade capture and remains at large. This unfolding tale of love and commitment across borders serves as a testament to the powerful forces that often shape the course of our lives.

"With the passage of time, the woman identified as Fatema Nusrat, fell in love with Nur and around 15 days ago, she reached Dharmanagar illegally to get married," SDPO (Dharmanagar) Debasish Saha told media agencies over phone.

"Both Nur and Fatema were residing at Phulbari. Recently, we got information about the presence of a Bangladeshi woman and arrested her on Thursday. She has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days but the man has fled," he said.
