AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday announced several restrictive measures to check coronavirus and urged the people to follow them. The measures include suspension of inter-state bus services for an indefinite period and stopping of all public transport till Monday.
The Chief Minister also urged the people to remain indoors as far as possible and only to go out when it is essential. He especially urged the people living along the border to remain alert so that nobody can enter the State crossing the international border.
Meanwhile, an official order issued closing the Akhaura Check Post — the only check post which was operating for all passengers other than official and diplomatic passport holders. However, goods transport will continue through the check post.
Meanwhile, life came to a standstill in Tripura on Sunday following the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to observe ‘Janata Curfew’ across the country to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The entire State wore a deserted look as there was no vehicle on the streets and the people, preferring self-quarantine, also remained indoors.
