AGARTALA: The medical schools in Tripura have accomplished a great feat by outperforming other institutions in the Northeast area in the National Tuberculosis Eradication Program.
The development of both government and private medical institutions in the area was carefully evaluated across numerous indicators of the National Tuberculosis Eradication Programme during the recently concluded Zonal Task Force conference in Guwahati. As a result, Tripura won the competition by displaying outstanding successes in the fight against tuberculosis.
Taking on twitter, National Tuberculosis Eradication Program declared, “#Proud_moment: Tripura is declared as the top State in NE Zone for the performance2022 of Medical Colleges in NTEP. According to the Health & Family Welfare Department official website, “More than 4894 cases of TB patients' data have already been uploaded to the Nikshay software site since it was launched in Tripura. Data uploaded: Dhalai Tripura (91%), North Tripura (89%), South Tripura (101%), West Tripura (83.3%).
So far, 30nos HMISS have received training in the state. There are 10 private health care facilities listed in NIKSHAY.”
It further added that, “In various Sub Centres around Tripura, 372 coloured tinplates for the DOTS Centre have been issued. In Tripura, 68 health institutes have appealing wall writing installed. During the 2013–2014 FY, a significant number of schools were covered, community meetings and patient–provider meetings were held to raise awareness of TB, and on top of that, participants in 02 Melas.”
Meanwhile, the study found that in 2022, Agartala Government Medical College, GB Pant Hospital, and Tripura Medical College stood out in five crucial areas of the National Tuberculosis Eradication Programme.
These included the ratio of TB patients enrolled in medical schools to all enrolled TB patients in the state, the ratio of TB patients enrolled in medical schools to all enrolled children TB patients in the state, the ratio of TB patients enrolled in medical colleges to all enrolled children TB patients in the state, excluding lungs, and CBINAT training for machine-learning TB diagnostics under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Programme.
